About Me

My photo
Joe Freeman
I started building surfboards at the age of 18. After a couple years of building boards on my own i decided to follow my passion and pursue a full time career in surfboard building. After apprenticing through a couple of local board builders, i began working for the leading surfboard builder on the east coast, Brian Wynn. After gaining experience on each area in the trade i currently work as head laminater (clear/ cutlaps) as well as head polisher. Recently i have been given the opportunity to work in the shaping bay on private label surfboards that are ordered through Wynn Surfboards. I am currently in the process of developing my own line "Old Soul" with a main focus on Alternative style surfboards and everything that is related to the artistic side of surfing. While Old Soul is still an up and coming company, it is beginning to develop a name for itself on the eastern coast. Old Soul surfboards are being carried in more and more surf shops but can be found in our biggest supporters shop "Surf Unlimited" in Long Beach Island, NJ.
